Fernando Torres

The sweetheart of all Liverpool fans. Boys admire him and girls adore him. He is the one and only Fernando Torres, who made a quite unexpected move last friday. Kenny Dalglish had taken over the club and the club are back on the right track. They have been winning matches and Torres looked like a more rejuvenated player under Dalglish. However, he handed in a transfer request to move to Chelsea. I really could not believe it when I read the newspapers. Had he forgotten all the promises he made? He promised that he would never want to play for any English club other than Liverpool. He also promised he would be fully committed to the club till the end of his contract. Now, he is turning his back on the club. He also mentioned that he wanted the club to have an ambition to win trophies, which is exactly what they are doing now, having successfully signed Luis Suarez for 22.8 million pounds to strengthen the squad. The Liverpool owners are unwilling to sell him unless Chelsea offer a very high price. According to tabloids, Chelsea are planning to cough up a record British fee of 50million pounds! They might also throw either Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka or Daniel Sturridge in to sweeten the deal. I really hope Torres stays. I cannot imagine Liverpool without him. Well, the transfer window closes in a few hours. I hope the deal doesn't fall through. However, the only thing I can do now, like the millions of Liverpool fans in the world, is to pray......
